The Gaming Giant Recruits Apex Legends Developer to Boost Troubled Hero Shooter Ambitious Title

2K Games has secured Ben Brinkman from the creators of Apex Legends to lead the studio crew at their internal studio, which is currently working on the upcoming over-the-shoulder roguelike extraction-shooter known as Project Ethos.

Leadership Shift Follows Poor Response

Brinkman takes on the leadership position at the development studio following the departure of previous head Michael Condrey, who was reportedly let go due to the game's disappointing early showing last fall.

Recently, 2K president a key figure updated employees about this strategic move through an official communication, which highlighted that early feedback sessions had indicated the necessity for a distinct direction.

The president stated that the team is now refining the project with a refreshed focus, aiming to better meet player expectations.

Trend of Key Acquisitions

The news follows a similar step taken by 2K Games in August, when they hired Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to assist with the BioShock development group.
