Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a former number one, has had a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in particular - caused him falling of the top ten and ultimately separating with former mentor Cervara.
Now training with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court after March of that year.
Success also signifies the Russian has secured twenty-one titles at 21 different competitions.
"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters at once, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his past six championship matches, featuring in Halle in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had led commentators to doubt if his skill to compete at the elite level was over.
Yet the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and perform assertively, supported by an better serve.
The champion fought back from a break down in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.
Both players swapped service breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his initial professional title, seized the initiative to create a final set.
The opponent rescued four early-game chances in a tight third set before the champion secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, he secured the title with a shot at the net area, with his opponent unable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
